BJ from Colon is a magician, poet, and professional mischief maker based in Colon, Michigan- the Magic Capital of the World. He moved there from the Chicago suburbs as a culture-shocked fifth grader with a broken heart from a major life change and a love of magic that quickly became his lifeline. That love turned into a calling and eventually, a 30+ year career of bringing laughter, wonder, and just the right amount of joyful chaos to audiences across the country. BJ has opened the world-famous Abbott’s Magic Get-Together for the past decade, made a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance on NBC’s Today Show, and was recently named one of the top five emcees in the magic industry. He’s also the author of My Unicorn Has Lost Its Horn and No Poems on Sunday, two laugh-out-loud books that claimed the #1 and #2 spots on Amazon’s Hot New Releases for Children’s Humorous Poetry in June 2025. His unicorn book even made it to #5 on the bestseller list — right behind 4 books by Shel Silverstein. Whether he’s performing in a library, school, festival, theater, or backyard, BJ’s mission is simple: create joy, spark connection, and leave people better than he found them.
John Gilmore is a storyteller and magician. He’s a writer and a poet. He’s a dreamer and a wisher. Located in the middle of Amish country in LaGrange, Indiana, Gilmore has not only shared his magic locally but has been from the East coast to the West coast.
His love for magic started as a shy and awkward teen in the mid 80’s. In the evenings he would sit on the living room floor and watch one of the many David Copperfield specials. From that point he was mesmerized and went to the local library and found a book on magic and read it cover to cover.
He soon found out that a mere 25 miles away was the Magic Capital of the World – Colon, Michigan. His weeks allowances were then saved to make a monthly trip up to Abbott’s Magic where he purchased his first of many tricks.
Over the years John has used magic in many everyday situations. Working as a firefighter and medic, he would do some small sleight of hand illusions to help calm a scared kid. In college he entertained his dorm and performed at their annual Halloween party.
As the years went on, his love more magic never died but new interested emerged. In high school he started writing poetry and finally he published his first book 2021 and since then 8 more have followed with even more in the works.
He performs what is considered “Bizarre” magic but not in a frightening way. Instead, he uses his unique talents of telling tales that grab and engage his audience. The magic flows into the stories and his goal is to make a personal connection with every audience member.

​Nate Hicks is a Fort Wayne based magician and entertainer who blends curiosity, laughter, and wonder to create unforgettable performances. His earliest influences came from watching his grandfather perform simple tricks and being captivated by the great Dick Stoner of Stoner’s magic in Fort Wayne. Those childhood sparks grew into a passion that later found new life as Nate discovered magic could engage and delight families while working in real estate. Today, Nate performs across northeast Indiana and beyond, from festivals like the Mac and Cheese Festival, Buskerfest, and Sauder Village to corporate gatherings, fundraisers, and private events. Whether it’s close-up strolling magic, rope routines, or sharing the stage with large audiences, his goal is always the same: to entertain, connect, and leave people happier than when they arrived.
